This tradition, which started by happy accident (when E was 4mo), has become a yearly favourite. I realise that we could dress up like a cowboy family and pose outside this building (our local cafe) on any day of the year, but the fact that it really is the Wild West Festival is pretty cool too. I try not to get hung up on rules, like standing in the perfect spot or not having patrons in the background. It's just a bit of fun, and a cute way to mark the yearly growth of our family. Imagine when we have even more kiddos to add to our brood!
And for reals, look at these kiddos growing! Eleanor was probably the most hilarious looking baby in the universe, and has managed to pull off her infamous wink-eye in the two most recent pics. Garland was such a bitty newborn for his first pic, and looks gigantic this year. You can't really see our full outfits in this pic, but I'll post more soon. It's hard work to keep a cowboy hat on either kid, and it's a lot of fun finding costumes each year. We try to stick to the Four Cowboy Fashion Principles (as decided by me): Denim, Leather, Gingham and Braids. Obvs. some years have been better than others, but I quite like our fresh and clean, pastel look this year... Perhaps next year we'll dress as bandits.
Also, here's the link to the video I promised. Warning, the acting is bad, the filming is worse, and there's a high possibility that you will have no idea what's going on. They do something different each year and it's always fun to watch. All that gun smoke.
I love this tradition of yours! Such a great way of recording your family as it grows and changes...
